Small businesses play a large role in Richmond's local economy. When shoppers make the decision to buy local, they help to keep more dollars in the community. According to Independent We Stand, for every $100 spent in locally owned businesses, $68 will stay in the community. For every $100 spent at non-local businesses, only $43 will stay in the community.

When you shop in Richmond, you help to support the City of Richmond and retain important tax dollars that are used to fund city services such as the Fire Department, Police Department, road repairs, city parks, and other key activities. Every dollar spent in our community helps to reduce the amount of property taxes needed to fund city services.
